School Survival Kit!

Hey everyone. I think we all know that it's back to school time :( I know some of you already started school, but if you live in the NY area like myself we still have a couple more days. Til then I decided to write a Survival Kit. This kit is just a few items I think would come in handy this school year. With the list of these items you can get a makeup bag and store the kit in your locker so you know its always there when you need it.

Let's Begin

It's always good to carry Kleenex Tissues because of allergy season and whenever we get the flu. Plus the brown tissues are very rough and dry; and it just hurts rubbing your nose.

Baby Wipes is also a good item because after sweating in P.E. the baby wipes can help freshen you up. It also can be used to on your hands if you have any little stain.

Baby Powder can be used after P.E. as well. Always can be used in your hair when you have those oil hair days. Just sprinkle a little in your hand and spread it all throughout your hair.

Deodorant is a must to carry around. Of course after P.E. & for those days you forgot to put it on in the morning. I don't think we want to smell like some of those kids that don't put on deodorant.
Lip Balm is another good thing to have. Always good to moisturize and keep your lips kissable.

I think every girls knows this but always keep a travel size Body Lotion. This will ensure that your never ashy & your always smelling good. Plus I like to use lotion after washing my hands so my hands wont get dry.

While in school we touch a lot of things with germs and all that bad stuff, so having Hand Sanitizer is a must.

I hope this survival kit was helpful in having a fun and awesome school year. Remember school is as fun as you make it, so have a good year and til next time.

Lip Balms

Hey everyone I hope you all are having a good day so far. I don't know if you guys have heard about the phase that every blogger goes through but I think I'm going through that. It's when you get too lazy to blog & that's what I've been doing. I'm trying to break out of that phase cause I got a lot of cool things that I'm dying to talk about.

Lets Get Started

Today I want to talk about a few things. As you can tell by the title it's lip balms. I honestly believe I am obsessed with them. I'm always trying to get new ones even when I haven't finished the old one. I think my obsession started when I cracked my lips a couple years; after that I never wanted my lips to be dry every again.
This hasn't made my favorite list yet but its definitely getting there. Smiths Minted Rose Lip Balm is so good. I got it at Sephora for $7 and I love it. It feels so light weight on your lips and when applied you get this little tingle feeling. It has a soft minty smell & the color is very sheer. I put this on my lips at night sometimes and the next morning my lips feel so soft.

I know many of you already know it this product but I had to talk about it. To be honest when Baby Lips first came out I never cared to try it out. It wasn't until a couple months ago I decided to see what all the hype was about & I feel so bad that I didn't try this sooner. I really love this products; this is the only color I have right now but I plan on stocking up on all the colors. This color is Cherry Me. This is also a very light weight lip balm, it smells fantastic (kind of like the jolly ranch candy), the color is a very sheer red. It's also made with shea butter and vitamin E which is a bonus. The only thing is I don't have 8 hr moisture like it said but that doesn't really bother me because I reapply before it's completely soaked up. You can purchase at your drugstore.

I talked about this lip balm in my I <3 Summer Tag, but it doesn't really hurt to run through it again. I have to say that Nivea Lip Butter is definitely one of my favorite lip balms. This is a much thicker that the other two but moisturizes beautifully. I had this for a months now and I still have a solid 2 months to go before I repurchase. The color is universal, so skin tone doesn't matter. If you don't like your lip balm with smell this is great for you. I got this at the drugstore.

Overall I love all these products. I will definitely repurchase and get different colors as well. If you haven't tried any of these as yet please go out and them. If y'all know any good lip balms comment below and I will check them out.

I hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful in purchasing your next lip balm. Have a good day.

Combination/Oily Face

Hey everyone, so I'm finally back to blogging. I came back from vacation a couple days ago but I just couldn't blog. I don't know what it was but I was just in a weird mood. I am feeling a little better now so I took advantage of it. I really did miss "talking" to you guys; I considered y'all to be my friends that I have girly conversation with. But on to the good stuff.

If you don't know I have combination/oily skin (mostly oily) & I absolutely hate looking like a grease ball when I wear makeup. I found this on YouTube and I know many of you may know about this already but I just wanted to give my opinion on it. Milk Of  Magnesia

When I heard about this I asked myself, how can a laxative help with an oily face? I honestly didn't even think this can work but let me tell you this is magic. Yes magic, I've tried everything and nothing worked; so when this did it was magic.

Its very simple to use. All you have to do is pour a little on a flat surface, use a cotton or your finger tips and just rub a light amount on the face (Do Not put around the eye area). Wait about 2 mins to dry; your face will dry to a white cast but it wont effect the color of your foundation or powder. Before I forget ALWAYS shake up the bottle before you use it. I don't think it would be a good idea to put on moisturizer right before putting on the milk of magnesia; only because it sucks up oil.I know there is like 3 flavors but only get the original one. (I repeat only get original flavored) The brand you get doesn't matter. You can get this at any drugstore.

This basically shows on the left what your face is suppose to look like when you the magnesia dries. The white cast should not affect the color of your foundation as shown in the middle. On the left is the finish product.

The Milk Of Magnesia works very well as a primer too. Overall I think this is the best thing to use for oily skin. If you want long lasting matte finish I recommend this. It last for about 7-8 hrs, which I believe is pretty long for a laxative.

I hope you enjoyed the review and considered getting this & til' next time :)

LIEBSTER Award!!!

Hey everyone, before I start I want to thank +Emily Ellcome & +Courtney Caldwell-Thomas for tagging me nominating. Their blogs are so cool and if you haven't checked it out then you should. This award is a way for bloggers to meet other bloggers. That is just wonderful, especially for the new bloggers like myself.
(Warning - this is going to be a long blog today, but don't worry it's still very interesting)

Here are the rules:
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the questions that the tagger set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you've tagged to answer.3. Choose 11 people and link them in your post.4. Go to their page and tell them.5. No tag backs!

Here were my questions from Emily

1. What is one thing you love the most?
- Other than my family, I love to sing. Singing is my passion.

2. If you could do anything with your life what would it be?
-If I could do anything with my life it would be, to be a business a women. When I say business women I don't mean desk work, I mean work on a beauty line, with fashion experts, with charities, and definitely become a singer.

3. What is one thing do you always wear or bring with you?
- Other than my phone, I always bring lip balm. I must always have it my bag. I hate licking my lips, so lip balm is always on hand.

4. What is the meaning of life to you?
- I think the meaning of life is to be happy. I feel like once your content with your life and happy, that's the meaning of life. Of course your gonna go through dark times, people are gonna come in and out your life, but if you can go through all the trail and tribulations that comes at you, and still be happy/satisfied when you look back at it; that's the meaning of life to me.

5. What is one way you get creative?
- It doesn't really matter. I could be listening to music, out with my friends, etc. Anything can pop a creative idea in my head.

6. Favorite food?
- This is a really hard one. Lately I've been wanting to try new foods, so I really don't know. I think I'm going to give a boring answer and say pizza.

7. Tea, coffee or herbal tea?
- I would say tea, only because I never tried herbal tea and my parents don't really like me drinking coffee cause it's bad for me.

8. Something your readers don't know about you?
- Um I'm very sweet. I've told once that I'm way to nice. That's the most boring answer.

9. Gel mousse, liquid, or powder foundation?
-I'm going to say liquid foundation because I haven't got a chance to try the other one. I will be trying them very soon.

10. Lipstick or Lip gloss?
-Lipstick! I know this might sound weird but every time I put on lip gloss, my lips start to get really hot.

11. Why did you start blogging?
- After watching so many videos on YouTube, I knew I wanted to be a beauty guru. I've always had a desire to help others with beauty and share my opinion about it. I knew I wasn't ready for YouTube just yet, so creating a blog is what I did and I'm very happy with my decision.

Here were Courtney questions

1. What is your favorite lip color?
- My favorite lip color is RED!

2. If you had to choose a hairstyle for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
- I would choose to have long curly because my hair is naturally curly, so I would want to stick with that.

3. Who is your favorite blogger at the moment?
- Honestly I don't have one. I like to many. Wouldn't be fair to choose.

4.What is your go to makeup look?
- My go to look is the classic winged eyeliner and red lips. I don't know what it is about that look but I really love it.

5. Where would be your ideal location to live?
- I always thing about that but I would honestly say NYC. I know that I live here already but I would move out the state for a while and then come back to live permanently.

6. What would you rather? A makeover or a fashion takeover?
- A fashion take over. I think it would interesting.

7. Why did you start your blog?
- Answered that in the other set of questions I had but to some it up; I really want to be a beauty guru and felt like I should start from somewhere since I'm still a little afraid of YouTube.

8. What beauty product could you not live without?
- I couldn't live without foundation. I rather know all my blemishes is covered.

9. What is your favorite film of all time?
- It's a Bollywood movie. I don't remember the name but the abbreviation is DDLJ. One of the best love stories I've ever seen.

10. What is your favorite fragrance?
- I don't know if it has a name but the Ed Hardy fragrance. The one for women in the pink bottle.

Wet n Wild

Hey everyone. I hope you all are having a good day so far. Today is another makeup review and it's on Wet n Wild products. I have a few things I want to say about their products. Lets jump into the review.

Liquid Eyeliner
First thing I'm going to talk about is the Mega Liner. Don't let the name "mega" fool you, it's really not so thick. This eyeliner is a brush tip; it dries quickly, come in waterproof, and glitter. I must say that I do love this eyeliner. It goes over my eyes so easily and I have a lot of control with the brush tip. The only downside to this is, the eyeliner is quite small so you do go through it quickly if you wear eyeliner on a daily basis. This is my favorite Wet n Wild product, I am on my 3rd one right now. This eyeliner is also very inexpensive.

Bronzer
This next one is there Bronzer. There isn't much I can really say about this product, because since I am a beginner I'm not to sure how the color should look on my face. Besides all that I do notice that my check bone area does look shimmery, (which I don't mind) so I guess I'm doing it right. I don't think I like this bronzer as much. I do think I will try out other products, but I will say this; this bronzer will last you a very long time and very inexpensive, I paid $4.

Lipstick
Lip time! I should say this now that I am a red lip person. I love red lipstick for me. I find anything else looks weird on me, so getting the pink was a little hard. Cherry Picking - left; Spotlight Red - middle; Don't Blink Pink - right. The cherry picking and don't blink pink are matte lipsticks but the color payoff is wonderful. I would suggest putting a lip balm on your lips 15 mins before applying the lipstick, because they are very drying. As for spotlight red that lipstick is more moisturizing. I don't like the formula in this lipstick like the other two.  I wouldn't suggest getting spotlight either. These lipsticks were very cheap so I do tlike the fact that it held up pretty well.

As you can see I did swatch it on my hand, so now you can get a better idea or what the color looks like. Cherry Picking is on the left; Don't Blink Pink is in the middle; and Spotlight Red on the right. Cherry picking doesn't look as red but believe me, on the lips it's a bright red. The pink looks like a barbie pink but it's not. Wet n Wild do have a barbie pink lipstick that I believe is called "Dollhouse Pink"

I got all of these products at Rite Aid. Like I said they were very inexpensive. Each one of these items cost less than $5. I will link the Wet n Wild website http://wnwbeauty.com/

I hope you enjoyed the review & found it helpful. Please follow; leave comments and feedback. Will be back day after tomorrow.

Facial Scrub

Good Afternoon everyone; If you live in NYC like me the heat wave we just had was a killer. Can I go on record and say that heat wave was more than deadly. I haven't experience humidity like that in a every long time. It's a good thing I stayed in the house most of the time; but no matter what the whether is a good facial scrub is always a good treatment to yourself.

Mint Julep Natural Facial Scrub

I bought this facial scrub a couple months a ago. Queen Helene Refreshing Mint Julep. On the front it states that it "Deep cleans and gently exfoliates the dull surface layers of your skin" Also on the back it states that the gently exfoliating action draws out impurities, unclogs pores and removes dead, dry cells from the surface of your skin. I think that this product does exactly what it says; I massage a small amount on my face with my fingers and let it sit for 30 mins. I then rinse it off with warm water and moisturize with my favorite moisturizer. My face feels refreshed, soft, and smooth. If you have acne blemish, this product works really well to get rid of that. After the first use, you start to see the blemishes fading.

I think is this a very good product. I got it at a beauty supply store for less than $5. I would recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want to spend tons of money or someone who just wants to treat themselves without leaving the house.

Thanks for reading & Til next time
Have a great day

Summer is here! "I <3 Summer" TagWhy not talk about all the things we love about this season. I have tons of things to say but I know we don't have all day for that. Before I get started I want to thank the very sweet +Mercedes Laspina for tagging me. If you haven't checked out her blog you should really go do that after your finish reading this one. So lets get this tag started

Favorite Summer Nail Polish
My favorite color is pink so I wear that year-round, but in the summer I love to wear a lot of  orange as well. The brand doesn't really matter to me as long as I get that pink/orange mash up. The brightness of those 2 colors makes me feel so warm inside every time I see it on my nails.

Favorite Summer Lip Product
Year round I like to use lip balms; anything I know that wouldn't dry out my lips but in the summer I'm extra cautious. During the summer I like to use anything moisturizing but lately I been loving Nivea Lip Butter. I find that it really moisturizes and keeps my lips feeling really healthy.

Pool or Beach
I've always preferred the pool over the beach. I think the pool is more cleaner and much easier to deal with. I don't have to worry about sand getting every where in my bathing suit (if you know what I mean) I also don't step on rocks or sea shells that can cut my feet. The pool is awesome.

Favorite Summer Hair Style
My favorite summer hair style is box braid. It's very easy to handle. I don't have to worry about it sticking on my skin when it's really humid. I just think it's the perfect summer hairstyle.

Favorite Summer Scent
I do wear this throughout the year but this is my everyday scent during the summer. Paris Amour by Bath & Body Works. If you every smells this fragrance just know that's me ;) It has a strong/sweet scent that lingers. I love a perfume that lingers.

Favorite Summer Fruit
During the summer I love to eat Pineapples, Mango's, Kiwi, and really sweet Strawberries. I love to eat those the most because I find them to be sweetest. Sweet fruits in the summer is a thumps up for me.

I really enjoyed doing this tag; I felt like you guys got to know me even more. I tag any awesome person who is reading this; especially +Elmo Banks can't wait to read what you love about summer.

Have a great day & will talk next time

e.l.f Brushes

HELLO!!! In a very happy mood cause today is makeup review; well makeup brushes I should say. If you haven't read my About Me post, my very first post then you should go do that. I basically introduce myself and I also state that I'm a makeup beginner in that post. Since I am a beginner, I get very excited when talking about makeup. My mom thinks I'm obsessed cause that's all I spend my money on. What can I say makeup is a very exciting journey to take; but lets get these reviews going.

POWDER BRUSH

The first brush I'm reviewing is e.l.f's powder brush. I absolutely love this brush. It's so soft, feels so good on the skin, and the style of the brush is so cute. This is my favorite e.l.f brush. It doesn't hold a lot of left over product in the bristles. I find that it's very easy to clean and doesn't feel dry after being cleaned like other brushes. Whenever I use loose powder with this brush, it gives me a very flawless look. I see many videos on YouTube where people would use this powder brush for foundation and state it gives a full coverage and nice finish. Personally I don't like full coverage makeup for me; I find it to look too much on my face, so I just stick to powder with this brush. Another thing I love about this brush and all of e.l.f brushes is, they come in there own little package which I find to be very helpful.

FOUNDATION BRUSH

I think we all know this brush; the famous foundation brush. The O.G of all the foundation brushes. Well e.l.f isn't the creator of the foundation brush but the style is definitely the original. I know many people like a flat top brush to use for there foundation, which I get cause this particular style, the brush does leave streaks. Overall this is a nice brush; soft, easy to clean, and doesn't irritate my skin. Another thing is this brush blends out concealer very well. I use to use my fingers but after using this brush it changed my routine, thankfully.

SMALL STIPPLE BRUSH

I don't have much to say about this brush other than I like it. Like the other brushes; soft and easy to clean. I use this as a foundation brush when I'm using a higher coverage foundation, so it wont look so thick.

I like all these brushes and will repurchased. E.l.f is very inexpensive, I paid a $1 for the foundation brush and $3 for the powder and stipple brush. I got them at Target and I know they have other products there.

Have a wonderful day & see you next time

 The Body Shop Review

Hey everyone, today I will be reviewing two products that I have purchased from The Body Shop. If you don't know The Body Shop is well know for there skin care products. They also have makeup, hair care, and fragrances.

First thing I wanna talk about is the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash. The bottle says that it is suitable for blemished skin. I mainly got this product because the employee at the store said the Tea Tree is good for oily skin. (I should let it be known now that I have really oily skin) I wasn't too sure if I should buy it but I did. Honestly I felt like this product could of been way better. The way the employee explained the noticeable difference other customers saw, made me feel that this would be good, and I honestly didn't feel that way. It barely controlled my oily t-zone without makeup. The only good thing I can say is, when I wash my face and my put on oil controlling makeup, I do notice that I don't have to blot as often. Over all I don't really like this product and I wouldn't repurchase. (I've bought this product 6 weeks ago and I'm not even half way through the bottle yet. So this go a long way)

Second thing I want to talk about is there Concealer All-In-One. The description says it's easy to blend and covers dark circles as well as imperfections. It also had vitamin E and Marula Oil. I honestly really like this concealer; I mainly use it for my under eye circles and I find that it works really well. It's a high coverage concealer but blends very lightweight. I blend this out with an e.l.f foundation brush and I absolutely love the way it looks. 4 stars and I would repurchase.

About Myself

I want to tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Ashley, 17+ (continuously getting older) I'm a student in school & also Caribbean. I'm a very loving person, very sweet (too sweet) but that's okay. I love to sing; matter of fact singing/music is who I am. Working on making that my career. Fashion & Beauty are my 2nd favorites. I enjoy exploring new ideas and getting inspiration from all over the world; hopefully that can turn into something for me as well.

To be honest I'm creating this blog to write reviews about all the beauty products that I purchase; from makeup, hair care, and skin care. I don't really do a lot of skin care sadly but I am starting. I must say that I am a beginner when it comes to makeup; I'm still learning and figuring out products I like to use, so please forgive if i don't write about certain products, its probably because I've never heard of it or haven't gotten my hands on it yet. I also will be doing fashion on here as well; giving a few tips on some outfits that I like or was shocked to see. (A mini Fashion Police I would call it) I don't know how frequently I will posting beauty reviews but I will start with once a week and see if it picks up, as for fashion I will posting every other day.

I do take suggestions on products to try, so please don't be afraid to make suggestions. Please follow and I look forward to this fun "journey" with you.
